Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says the economy will be weak through the rest of this year. Many analysts agree that the country will hit another economic pothole in the fourth quarter. The gross domestic product, which is the best barometer of the country's economic health, exceeded economists' expectations by growing more than three percent in the 2nd quarter. Gerry Swanson, the Thomas R. Brown Chair in Economic Education at the University of Arizona, looks into the crystal ball.

Rio Nuevo
Nine years ago, Tucson voters approved the Rio Nuevo Downtown Development District. Last week, the Tucson City Council approved $454 million in bonds over the next six years to fund all the Rio Nuevo projects. Also on tap for downtown Tucson, a major hotel and arena to help make the city more competitive in attracting major conventions. Greg Shelko, Director of the Rio Nuevo project, talks about the status of Rio Nuevo and downtown development in general.
